With a population of just over 80,000, Kamloops has a small town feel yet is large enough to host a symphony orchestra, professional theatre group, five first class golf courses & several par 3 courses. Year round fun is available at Sun Peaks which offers world class skiing, both downhill & cross country, numerous hiking trails & a challenging golf course. Harper Mountain is closer still & is an ideal ski hill for the young family and the Overlander Ski Club maintains extensive cross-country trails at Stake Lake. Just a few minutes east of the city is Kamloops Wildlife Park. From April to October the local Farmers Market is the place to meet your neighbours on a Saturday morning while picking up the best of the locally grown produce. Perhaps after a visit to the Farmer's Market you'd fancy a ride on '2141', Kamloops Heritage Railway Society's restored steam train.

There’s no shortage of things to do here, just check the city’s calendar of events & you’ll discover an endless variety of activities. Kamloops plays host to several tournaments including slow pitch, hockey & golf. World class fly fishing, hiking, water skiing, wind surfing, cross country skiing & ice fishing are an example of outdoor activities that are within a half hour drive of the city.

A variety of schools are located throughout the city as well as the Thompson Rivers University which offers several degree courses and numerous diploma courses.
